Cause of Flavour
Occurs in beer due to oxygen interaction in finished packaged product. Oxygen generates free radicals that begin to interact with the beer – either releasing stabilised flavours (from sulphur complexes) or degrading flavours within the beer to generate off-notes.
This flavour is typical of fresh packaged lager and beer that has oxidised within the first few weeks of packaging.

Please note: This FlavorActiV GMP Flavour Standard is proprietary – the food safe flavouring contained within it is designed to represent an off flavour type that can occur in beer at a specific oxidation profile. Other flavours within our range can fit older oxidation profiles – such as Papery and Catty.
