Product Description
Williamson Flame Intensity Monitors (FI) are the single-wavelength sensors of choice for a variety of flare applications where the more sophisticated dual-wavelength flare products are not appropriate or are not required. This lower-cost technology is also commonly used as a pilot flame detector for ground flares and landfill flares where the viewing distance is less than about 300 feet or 100 meters. Products specifically designated for flame intensity monitoring applications include:
- Pilot Monitoring of Hydrogen, Ammonia or CO Flames
- Pilot Monitoring of Ground Flares and Landfill Flares
- Flame Intensity Monitoring
FI2 vs. FI5
The Flame Intensity monitor is available in two different wavelengths – the FI2 and the FI5.
FI5
Sensitive to CO, CO2, and H-C flames.
Not available in EXP configuration.
Only available with D/40 optical resolution
Typically preferred for CO flares
FI2
Sensitive to H2, NH4, and H-C flames.
Available in N4, EXP and EXPSS configurations.
Available in D/35, D/100, and D/200 optical resolutions
Typically preferred for Hydrocarbon flares
